Fish’s Rainbow Dream’ Storytelling Performance at 2nd National School Theatre Festival

,

Organized by Lalabala, Kathmandu, Nepal | August 20, 2025

On August 20, 2025, The Joy House Collective presented माछाको रंगीन सपना (Fish’s Colorful Dream) at the 2nd National School Theatre Festival, organised by Lalabala at Studio Theatre, Pingalasthan, Kathmandu, Nepal. The storytelling performance was shared with students of Class 1 from Akshara School, bringing joy, imagination, and creative engagement to the festival space.

As part of the festival, we performed Fish’s Rainbow Dream, inviting children to step into a playful journey of colour, friendship, and discovery. The performance encouraged young audiences to explore imagination and collaboration through story, movement, and interaction.

The story follows a Rainbow Fish who meets a black and white fish, and together they discover that the colours they are searching for already exist within them. Through this gentle narrative, children were invited to reflect on ideas of self-worth, friendship, and the beauty of diversity.

The children participated enthusiastically throughout the performance, responding with curiosity, laughter, and imaginative engagement. Their energy and openness brought the story alive, making the session a shared experience between the performers and the audience.

Overall, the session fostered joyful participation, shared learning, and expanded children’s expressive experiences through storytelling and performance within the vibrant setting of the theatre festival.
