What can a simple everyday object become when we look at it through the eyes of a storyteller? On June 28, 2026, The Joy House Collective conducted an interactive storytelling workshop for 21 teachers at Shree Suryajyoti Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Jugepani, Hupsekot, Nawalpur, Gandaki Province. Organized in collaboration with Project Rangichangi and the school, the workshop brought together teachers from three different schools.
The session introduced basic storytelling techniques through games, creative exercises and hands-on group work. Teachers explored the different elements that help build a story — setting, characters, actions and dialogue — and experimented with reimagining everyday objects as storytelling props.
The teachers were enthusiastic and actively participated in the activities. Through group exercises, they had opportunities to move beyond simply reading or narrating a story and explore how they could present it in more engaging ways.
The workshop offered a starting point for teachers to experiment with storytelling as a classroom tool and discover new ways to invite children’s imagination and participation in learning.
