January 15, 2026 | A winter camp storytelling session for Kindergarten students at Kidzee Boudha, Kathmandu
An open playground slowly filled with voices, laughter, and movement Children gathered with curiosity. And before long, they were no longer just watching— they were inside the story.
माछाको रंगीन सपना (Fish’s Rainbow Dream), a story written and directed by Bansri Pandey. The story follows a black-and-white fish who dreams of a colorful world. As the fish journeys through different spaces and encounters new moments, it begins to understand that colors are not just something external—but something that comes alive through connection, imagination, and participation. Through simple interactions, role-play, and playful engagement, children are invited to become part of the story—helping the fish find its colors and, in the process, discovering their own ways of expressing joy.
As the fish travels through different spaces and encounters new moments, it begins to discover that colors are not just something to find—but something to experience, share, and feel. Designed as an interactive storytelling experience, the story uses simple participation, imagination, and play to invite children into its world—allowing them to respond, contribute, and shape the journey.

A Shared Experience Through Imagination and Play
This session was conducted for around 20 students from Nursery to UKG during the winter camp at Kidzee Boudha School. Children were curious, energetic, and constantly engaging with the story. They responded freely—asking questions and participating in moments that helped move the story forward.

In our storytelling, the fairy is never an imaginary being—but someone present in the children’s real world. A teacher or a parent who becomes part of the story. With spontaneity and warmth, the teacher of Kidzee Boudha school stepped into the role, improvising effortlessly and guiding the children through the experience. Through this, the children not only experienced a story—but also saw how the people around them bring magic into their lives.
“It was very interesting & engaging. Kids had great fun.”
– Bimala Bogati, Parent“New experience & fun.”
– Jenisha Dulal, Teacher“Very creative and unforgettable memory.”
– Shamikshya Chaulagain, Parent
The outdoor space became vibrant and alive. Children moved freely, laughed openly, and responded without hesitation. Their curiosity shaped the rhythm of the session, making the storytelling dynamic and unpredictable.
Parents and teachers watched as the children immersed themselves completely—creating a shared atmosphere of joy, connection, and presence.

Follow-up Activity: Bringing Colors to Life
After the storytelling session, the experience continued through a simple creative activity. Children were given a blank outline of a fish and were invited to color them in their own unique ways. Some chose bright, bold colors, while others experimented with patterns and combinations—each fish becoming a personal expression of their imagination.
This activity extended the story beyond the performance. The children were no longer just helping the fish find colors—they were creating those colors themselves.
